In contrast, French-speaking students experienced the inverse of this change over time.
On the other hand, the proportion of students who knew no other language except English accounted for 20% in 2000. This statistic decreased by half, ten years later, while students proficient in German only or two other languages experienced no change over the duration, remaining constant at 10%.
