Overall, chatting on the Internet is preferred by girls while boys love playing on games console. In addition, there are more young adolescents enjoy playing on games console than chatting on the Internet
Regarding texting online, which is the favorite activity of girls, which is done by roughly 70% of them, 35% for 1 to 3 hours and 10% for more than 4 hours. While the figures for boys are just approximately 55% in total and about 30% of them spend 1 to over 4 hours a day chatting online. The percentage for each or both genders is the same when it comes to less than an hour of chatting on the Internet
Moving to playing games with console, boys dominate this area with the highest proportion of about 85% in total and approximately 45% of 1-3 hours playing, nearly doubling that of girls ( about 50% and 15% respectively ). However, more girls play games console when it is under an hour ( 35% ), while the figures for boys and all of them are almost even at 30%. Finally, not many teenagers prefer to play games console for more than 4 hours as the figures for boys, girls and both are not over 10%
