A glance at the given bar chart reveals the number of accidents and injured commuters per 100 million passenger miles travelled(PMT) by means of vehicle in the year 2002.
Overall, demand response is the mean of transport which is headed in both incidents and injuries. In addition, it seems that commuter rail is the safest type of transport in 2002.
It is evident from the provided information that demand response was the most dangerous among other vehicles, it was responsible for 225 unit in accidents and 173 unit in injuries. In stark contrast, with regard to commuter rail, there were merely 20 unit in incident, while the figure for injuries was slightly slower, at 17 PMT.
It is interesting to note that, in 2002, bus and light rail had the same figure for accidents, both standing at 76 PMT unit. In tern of injuries, yet, the figure for bus was significantly higher than light rail. The former was almost twofold to latter, representing at 66 and 39 respectively.
