The bar chart provides information about the proportion of owned and rented accommodation of households in England and Wales in 1918 and 2011.

Overall, as we can see from chart, the percentage of households in owned accommodation experienced an upward trend, while rented accommodation witnessed a downward trend. It is also worthy to mention that they both experienced the exactly opposite pattern. Moreover, owned accommodation had reached its peak in 2001, whereas rented accommodation experienced

To begin with, owned accommodation started at about 23 percentages, and reached just over 1939 and remained same in 1953 afterward, it had a gradual rise until it reached its peak at about 70% and then showed a slight decline.

In terms of rented accommodation, I had started from around 78% which was its highest in 1918, and reached and remained at 78% in 1939 and 1953 afterward, it had a gradual drop until it reached its bottom at just above 30% in 2001 , and then showed a slight increase at 35% in 2011.
