The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

The line graph compares the percentage of people who bought coffee and tea and their drinking habits in five cities in Australia.
It is clear that residents living in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart consumed more coffee and tea than the residents compared to those in other two cities. In addition, instant coffee was more popular than fresh coffee across all five cities.
Over 60% of people going to coffee shops for coffee or tea in Sydney and Melbourne in the past 4 weeks. While the percentage of fresh coffee purchases in Sydney and Melbourne was almost equal, at below 45%, the figures for instant coffee purchase in the former city was approximately 3% lower than in the latter city.
The proportion of people visiting coffee shops for coffee or tea in Hobart was almost 65%, significantly higher than in Adelaide, which was under 50%. The lowest figures for fresh coffee purchases were found in Brisbane and Adelaide, at about 35%. The percentage of residents who bought coffee in Hobart and Brisbane was approximately 54%, compared to 50% in Adelaide.
