The chart shows British Emigration to selected destinations between 2004 and 2007

The bar chart compares the numbers of British who emigrated in terms of five main destination countries from 2004 to 2007.

Overall, Australia can be seen as the most favorable destination of British throughout the years. On the other hand, New Zealand and USA welcomed the lowest number of British to work and live in their nations.

In 2004, there was the highest number of British immigrated to Australia, with more than 40 thousand people, compared to roughly 22 thousand in New Zealand and USA. However, the number of British immigrants in Australia dropped to just under 40 thousand in 2005, whereas there was a dramatic growth of British entering France, at 33 thousand people. Spain also allowed the same number of British to have access to their country.

It is noticeable that Australia became the leading nation, where most British chose to settle down in 2006. There was over 50 thousand immigrants in Australia, comparing to 32 thousand in France, and less than 30 thousand in the other three countries. Even though the number of people immigrated to Australia decreased in the following year, it still remained the highest figure in comparison with Spain, New Zealand, USA and France.
