The charts below compare the age structure of the populations of France and India in 1984.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given horizontal bar charts illustrate the age pyramids of men and women in the two countries France and India in the year 1984.
Overall, French females’ life expectancy tend to be longer than its counterpart, whereas a perfectly balanced structure of Indian citizens can be observed.
Regarding the bar chart of France, the two genders witnessed most equality, ranging from 2.5 to 4 up to the age of 60. Progressively, the difference between the two sexes was prominent. The female percentage was 0.5 more than the male proportion for the ages 65-70 and 70-75. For the age groups 70-75 and 80-85, women’s percentages were 3 times as much as men’s. The final age group saw the most pronounced distinction: 4 times higher for women as compared to men.
Concerning the bar chart of India, it was impeccably symmetrical. The percentages of each sex decreased according to the age groups, from around 7% to around 1%. Nonetheless, there was a slight increase of about 0.5% in the proportions of the ages over 70, with the equivalence between males and females.
