The charts below show the percentage of water used by different sectors in Sydney, Australia, in 1997 and 2007.

The pie charts compare the amount of water consumed by five sectors in Sydney, Australia from 1997 to 2007.
It is clear that food industry still was the sector using the highest amount of water in comparision with others, despite being reduced over the periods shown. Overall, the percentage of water consumption decreased gradually in most of sectors, except for household use and service industry
In 1997, a majority of the water consumption used by food industry, accounting for nearly a half, where as the minority was building industry with only 5%. After 10 years, there was a decrease to 41% in the figure of food industry, and the same trend also took place in Building industry and manuafacturing, which are fell to 2% and 11% respectively.
There was a upward trend in the amount of water used by household use and service industry. From 1997 to 2007, the figure of service industry soared to 25%, an increase of 12% over 10 years, whereas household use was recorded the modest growth from 19% to 21%.
