The claim that animals have “rights” has been the subject of much debate since the 1970s. Are zoos helping or hurting our animals? Should zoos be banned? Do you agree or disagree?
Once upon a time human beings were termed as animals and belonged to class homo-sapiens. Whether its human being or animals, all belong to the Mother Nature. Since human enjoys the luxury of being intelligent and superior to other creatures of Mother Nature, now it’s time to give those animals the right to exist and help them evolve. Thinking of the animals, human created zoos to help them nourish and grow. But are these zoo really helping the animals or are they taking advantage of poor creatures to fulfill human entertainment.
Animal right is as important as human right because they too are living being and anything’s done to devour them of their right should be addressed on urgent basis. Zoos were created for the sole purpose of evolving animals but for some time their agenda has changed. The facility provided is not up to the mark and several instances have been seen of poaching.
Once I visited a zoo and saw people pelting stone on animals which clearly violates their right and is inhumane behavior. There are several instances when lion or tiger has attacked the visitors, hurting them badly. These things clearly indicate that zoo is not any more what it was supposed.
Banning the zoos is not a correct approach as it would lead to chaos and leaving those animal in open would create terrifying situation for people. What needs to be done is to enhance the facility, regular checks needs to be conducted and proper trained staff to look after the animals. People also need to be taught upon to help the animals and treat them as they would treat other people.
