The diagram illustrates the process of generating electricity by using geothermal energy.
Overall, there are five main steps in this process, beginning with cold water and ending with making electricity in the power plant.
In the first stage of the process, the cold water pumped down 4,5 km underground into an injection well. In the next step, the water goes through an area called the geothermal zone, which contains a lot of hot rocks used to increase the temperature of the water.
After the next step, the hot water is transported to the condenser where hot water is pumped up a condenser, ready for the next stage. In the condenser, the hot water transforms into steam and use to power steam. Then, the production of electricity by a generator make powered by a turbine and produces electricity.
