It is apparent that the main modifications were made to the in-house facilities. These involved the rearrangement of stores, new parking facilities, and new furniture retail.
Looking at the maps in more detail, we can see that in 1982, the coffee shop was in the north corner of Happy Valley Shopping Center but it was demolished in 2012 to make room for a sports center. Furthermore, the food store was relocated to the south-east corner and themed restaurants were built next to it, replacing a row of shops.
The two maps also showed changes that were made to the outdoor area. There was a lake on the east side of the shopping center in 1982. However, this was no longer present in 2012 and instead, we see the addition of furniture retail. Moreover, this shopping center was assessed via a pathway from the west side of it but then this pathway was demolished and a parking lot was constructed instead.
