The diagrams depicts the layout of the hospital called Queen Mary after 2 changing times from during the period of 40 years.
Overall, the hospital had experienced modernization process with the appearance of more amenities since its construction in 1960.
Initially, since Queen Mary hospital was constructed, this area was divided into 4 fairly equal parts, including main hospital, parking area, shopping center and an enormous farmland. Over 20 years, hospital, which was located in the left corner near the main road, was upgraded with a pharmacy right on the west side. This also helped expanding the hospital's square. Opposite the building of old hospital, the shopping center was then substituted by a cancer center with the aim of treating cancer patients. besides, the farmland was also replaced to make room for a newly-built nursing school. In contrast, there was no change in car park regarding size and location.
Furthermore, the main hospital area remained intact during a period of 2 decades from 1980, whereas cancer center was enlarged far from the southern part and took the previous place of the school for children aged 1-5 years old. Therefore, the areas used for parking cars and motorbikes and caring children became shrinker and smaller after the second change, which only a half of the initial square.
