The diagrams below show the life cycle of the silkworm and the stages in the production of silk cloth.

The diagrammatic representation depicts the physical changes taken place in silk larvae and steps of making clothes made of it’s byproduct silk. Overall it takes four and five steps respectively to manufacture silk from the worm to making process of it.
Firstly, it takes at least ten days for the worms to hatch out from the eggs in form of larvae soon after it consume the leaves of mulberry in order to further growth. Within a month, larva starts realising silk which afterwards forms into a cocoon shape. And finally the moth is been came out from the shell.
Secondly, the manufacturer brings the collected cocoons of silk threads in order to boil into water so that it can be unwind where the threads can stretch upto 900 meters in length. Before the process of dying they are been combined by twisting method. Lastly the threads are weaved in order to make silk fabrics.
