The diagrams below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called the salmon.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given diagrams reflect the different stages of a big fish called the salmon.

Overall, there are three different phases where the size of the fish increase gradually in each phase. It takes nearly a decade to form adult salmon from salmon eggs.

Initially, the salmon eggs are present beneath the upper river which is one of the slow moving river. The eggs reside under the reeds where a small stones are also present. It takes approximately 5 to 6 months to change into ‘fry’ which is nearly 3 to 8 cm in length.

As can be seen on the second phase of the life cycle, a ‘fry’ fish starts to move towards the lower river which is the fast flowing river. Then, it takes approximately 4 years to grow up to form ‘smolt’ which is about 12 to 15 cm.Finally, in the last phase, the ‘smolt’ tends to move towards the open sea to form an ‘adult salmon’ which is around 70 to 76cm in the length. It takes approximately 5 years of duration to form ‘adult salmon’.
