The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The provided pie charts illustrate the usage of energy as well as the emission of greenhouse gas from the energy consumption in a common household in Australia.

Although heating needs the most percentage of energy to be produced, it creates less greenhouse gas when compared to water heating. Contrastingly, cooling and lighting need less energy to run and similarly they produce less greenhouse gas.

According to the first pie chart, Australians use most of their household energy in producing heat (42%) whereas only 2% of the power is utilized for cooling purposes. Water can be warmed at the 30% expanse of energy. While refrigeration and lighting can cost just 11% of the energy combinedly (7% and 4% respectfully), other appliances need to use 15% of it.

Water heaters as well as other appliances emit most amount of greenhouse gases in Australia, 32% and 28% individually. On the other hand, refrigerators produce 14% of the gas while heating produces 15%. Lighting (8%) and cooling (3%) emit least amount of greenhouse gas.
