Essay topics:

The first graph shows the number of train passengers from 2000 to 2009; the second compares the percentage of trains running on time and target in the period.

The number of people traveling by trains is depicted in the first line graph, meanwhile, the second one reveals information on the proportion of trains activating on time compared with the target. Overall, the figure for train travellers fluctuated over the given period, however, the percentage of trains following schedules exactly witnessed an upward trend.
When looking at the first line graph, from 2000 to 2002, the number of people using trains grew minimally by approximately 5 million then decreased considerably and hit a bottom at its original statistic in 2003 at slightly above 35 million. In contrast, the figure for train travellers reached a peak at over 45 million in 2005. From 2006 to 2008, there was a slight drop of more than 5 million, which was followed by a recovery between 2008 and 2009.
Moving on to describe the second graph, in 2000, the percentage of trains running on time was 3% lower than the standard line which maintained at 95%, however, a dramatical growth was recorded making the figure 1% higher than the target. After that, the statistic of trains without delays fell remarkably to its original state at 92%, before it rose rapidly and reached a plateau at 97%.
