The graph below shows the amount of money spent on books in Germany France Italy and Austria between 1995 and 2005 Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below

The given line chart compares and contrasts data on the changes in the sum of money spent on books in four European nations including Germany, France, Italy, and Austria during a ten-year period from 1995 to 2005, measured by millions of dollars.

Overall, as clearly shown in the graph, there was an upward trend in the entire amount of money paid for buying books in the four countries. Furthermore, it is noticeable that the German expended the largest amount of money on this purpose over the period of one decade.

It can be observed that the expenses for books in Germany stood precisely at 80 million dollars in 1995, the highest number compared to remaining countries and this leading position still was kept until the end of the period after a gradual rise to approximately 95 million. In the first year of the period, the figure for Italy was at roughly 50 million, then it saw a mild fluctuation over the next 6-year period before witnessing a moderate increase to above 60 million in 2005. It is apparent that the period between 1995 and 2005 experienced a steady growth in France’s expenditure on the items from minimally under 50 million to the peak at around 75 million dollars at the end. In Austria, despite being the nation with the lowest figure in 1995, a tremendous boom was recorded in the amount of money spent on books from 40 million in 2001 to over 70 million in 2005, overtaking the figure of Italy in 2003 and tending to narrow the gap with that of France.
