In contrast, the proportion of agriculture and business and financial sectors completely changed in the last ten years. The proportion of agriculture decreased significantly from 10% in 1975 to near zero in 2000. However the proportion of the other sector is doubled through these years.
Furthermore, the contribution of manufacturing was slightly declined from almost 45% to approximately 20% through the whole century.
Generally; in the twentieth century, as the contribution of agriculture and manufacturing sectors towards the UK economy decreased, the business and financial part made a major contribution to the economy.
