The graph below shows the number of passenger railway journeys made in Great Britain between 1950 to 2004/05.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph gives information about how many people use the national rail network, London underground, and light rail & metro systems in Great Britain from 1950 to 2004/05.
Overall, both three railway systems had a noticeable increase in comparison with the beginning. At the end of the period, the national rail network was the most common.
In 1950, the national network was the most prevalent system with 1000 million travellers . It reached its peak in the mid of the 1950s (about 1100 million passengers) before dropping dramatically and hitting a low in the 1980s (about 600 million people). The London underground had almost stayed the same for over 30 years (approximately 700 million individuals) before reaching its bottom in the 1980s (500 million commuters).
In 2004/05, the national rail network remained most common with over 1000 million people, increasing by 400 million compared to 20 years ago. This was followed by the London underground with about 100 million fewer than the first one. Despite only starting in the 1960s, light rail & metro systems saw a considerable number with over 200 million travellers.
