The provided line graph indicates the figure of users in modern technology devices in British houses and its changes between 1996 and 2003, namely CD player mobile phone, home computer and internet access from 1998 to 2002.

Overall, there is an upward trend in percentage of both devices in homes in the UK over the period shown. However, mobile phone and internet access experienced a considerable development in comparison with that of the other two.

Looking into the details, the ratio of CD player obtained the highest at below 60 percent while mobile phone and home computer received a low of around 17 percent and 27 percent in 1996/97. Then, internet access appeared in British’s homes in 1998 with the proportion at about 10 percent. The other three, meanwhile, gradually increased to the ratio by 27 percent in mobile phone, 32 percent in home computer and 66 percent with CD player.

In the 1998/99 - 2002/03 period, there is a substantial climb in the percentage of mobile phone and internet access, which showed a new trend of using modern technology. Although the figure of CD player and home computer stability grew to approximately 83 percent and 55 percent in 2002/03, mobile and internet access experienced a fast rise in vicinity of 70 percent and 45 percent.
