As far as the total births are concern, in 1950, the number of the newly born babies stayed at just below 8,00,000. After 2 decades, it rose quickly to 1 million and reached at apex point. After two years (1990), the number of the rising children went down slowly to nearly 6 lakhs. In 2010, this grew gradually by about 1,00,000 which was remained constant till the current year. It is estimated that, it would remain levelled off.
