Essay topics:

The graph shows the value in US dollars (in millions of dollars) of investment in funds of four categories from 1988 to 2014.

The given line graph provides a comparison of the number of US dollars invested in funds in terms of company shares, fine art, gold, and property measured in millions of dollars over a 26-year-period.
From an overall perspective, one particularly interesting fact highlighted by the figure is that gold hosted the first rank over the years shown. Three of four categories witnessed the fluctuated trend except for company shares which had an upward trend during 26 years.
According to the data on a diagram, it is evident that gold accounted for 100 million dollars at the beginning of the period while others were under this index. Noticeably, the money invested in company shares and property had the same pattern in the first stage. However, in 1992, the dollars consumed for gold plummeted to exactly 50 million dollars and met the same record as company shares and property. In the same year, the funds for fine art increased to nearly 100 million dollars.
In spite of the fluctuation, the capital used for gold reached its peak in 2012, with a number was around 450 million dollars. Subsequently, the disbursements for fine art and company shares in 2012 cost 300 million dollars and 200 million dollars respectively. While in this year, the spending on the property was merely 200 million dollars which is roughly less than 2 times when compared with the fine art index. However, at the end of the period, the funds for gold decreased by nearly 100 million dollars. Finally, the fine art, company shares, and property witnessed an increment in the number, which was 305 million dollars, 250 million dollars, and 200 million dollars respectively.
