The pie charts compare the major fields of tertiary education of Australian degree holders in two age groups, namely, 25 to 34 and 55 to 69. The information is presented as a percentage of study population. Overall, graduates of Social Sciences and Education are approximately similar in both age groups, however, Administration and Science/Technology are more popular among younger generation, while older people prefer Engineering and Medicine.

Social Sciences and Education are similarly preferred by both groups at approximately 20% and 14% respectively.

Administration and Modern Sciences witness a marked difference between two groups. A fifths of younger people have Administration qualifications, whereas, only 15% have this in the other group. Modern Sciences is at just below 20% in25-34 group, meanwhile, only about 10% of older people like this.

In contrast, engineering degree holders are at around 20% in 55 to 69 group, whereas, only around 10% of younger people qualified in engineering. Likewise, Medicine is at around 12% and 7% in older and younger groups, respectively.
