In 1970, the number of car theft was the highest at 0.4 millions cases , two times higher than the figure of burglary. Over the period , car theft increased significantly and reached its peak of nearly 1,8 million cases , upon which it dropped and finished at 1 million case in 2005. House burglary followed a similarly fluctuating trend . started at 0,2 million , the number rose to roughly 0.5 million by 1995 then suddenly fell down to nearly 0,4 million in the final year

Throughout the period , there was no such dramatic change in number of street robbery. From about 0,06 million cases in 1970 , the figure of robbery had an fluctuating downtrend and then finished at the same number of the first year.
