Role model is someone to which youngsters look up to. A role model can be anyone from your family member to glamorous film or sports star. The current younger generation is more inclined towards film or sports star, as a role model compared to others and why shouldn’t they not be.

These stars have all the luxuries and enchantments one can think of. People try to be like them by following them on social media, using clothes, bags, etc. endorsed by stars. Sometime this idolization turns into obsession which sways youngsters to a wrong path. In movies celebrities are shown doing extraordinary activities, partying, drinking, etc. and being their idol, youngster follows the same, thus having negative influence on them.

There are also instances when sports or film star role model has shaped the future of a youngster. For ex, Virat Kohli current Indian Cricket team captain looked up to Sachin Tendulkar as role model. Many younger film stars has looked up to Amitabh Bacchan and strived hard to be successful. These person were motivation for them to be successful.

This shows that sport or film stars as a role model can lead a youngster to right or wrong path depending upon guidance and motivation provided. Youngsters should not only look up to their flamboyant lifestyle, but the hard work they have done to achieve that. Media should also restrain itself from promoting negative activities of stars. Stars should responsibly promote things, as it directly impacts youngsters.
