A glance at the figure provided reveals the achievement of medals by the top ten nations in 2012 olympic games.

In general, it is evident that the differences of the total number of medals that won by these ten countries are considerably large with the minimum of 11 medals and maximum of around 90 medals.

it is crystal clear that USA achieved the highest number of medals in this olympic game, followed by china. With regard to the gold medals, United States won 46 games and ranked first and hers silver and bronze medals were both 29. second in terms of medals was china which won 38 games and was 27 games' first runner-up and 23 games' second runner-up.

Also noteworthy is that, some countries had more bronze medals than the other two. Russia got 32 bronze medals while only won 24 games and received 26 silver medals. Similarly, France and Italy got 12 and 11 bronze medals respectively which outweighed their gold or silver medals.

In terms of silver medals, germany and australia got the place of first runner-up more than other two categories. 19 and 16 sliver medals were achieved by germany and australia respectively.
