The mentioned table illustrates the percentage of six types of families in Australia who were living in poverty in 1999.They were single aged person, aged couple, single with no children, couple with no children, sole parent and couple with children.

Overall, as is represented by the table, sole parent had the highest ratio of poverty whereas aged couple had relatively low rate of poverty in Australia during 1999.

It is clear from the table, sole parent and single parent with no children accounted higher percentage of poverty 21% and 19% respectively whereas aged couple were the least contributor with the proportion of 4% only. Similarly, the single aged person had contributed 6% of poverty while couple with children had figure of 12% which is the third categories of families with higher percentage.

It is evident that during 1999 in Australia the couple with no children had quite low percentage of poverty (7%).However, it can be noticed that all households contributed 11% of poverty in Australia.
