The given table provides statistics of forest area in various continents from 1990 to 2005 ,
in millions of hectares. Throughout the period some of the area showed minor flactation while others experienced tremendous changes.
Firstly we can see clearly in the table Asia and Europe shown an increasing trend . Asia had a forest area of 576 hectares in1990 which was reduced to570in 2000 and ended with 584 in 2005. While in case of Europe stood at 989 at the beginning gradually rose to998 and settled in 1001.
Africa and south America witnessed a dramatic fall in forest land . Africa started with 749hectors and it fall sharply to 709 in 2000 and further declined to alow of 691. South amerca shown the similar trend
Finally when considering north America and oceania there was a less effect in reduction ,
both started at 706 and 199 respectively and finished at fairly near numbers . So it clearly evident that with few exception , as a whole forest area depleted worldwide.
