The climograph represents the average figure of temperature and precipitation in Kolkata over a calendar year.
Overall, the rise of temperatures remains pretty stable in comparison to precipitation which varies significantly over the year. While the highest temperatures recorded in the months of April to May, the most precipitation occurs from July to August.
Given a close look at the provided data, between the months of January to May, the average temperatures of Kolkata increase from their lowest of about 20 degrees C to a peak of over 32 degrees C. Similarly, average rainfall also rises from 20 mm in January to 100 mm in the month of May.
However, while the temperature stays roughly stable for the next four months, the precipitation is more than doubles for the month of June compared to May. The figure for average rainfall increases dramatically above 250 mm from July to September and the month of July recorded the highest of 340 mm. The final three months notice a drastic fall in the pouring to the low of about 10 mm in December and a steady drop in temperatures back to January average.
