The given flow chart illustrates the process of production of leather based products. The entire operation can be divided into three parts. In part one, the animal skin is collected and send to a factory in order to be processed. The second part consists of different steps involving the leathet processing and the final act is production of consumable goods in another factory.
Firstly, the hide is collected from farm, cleaned, air dried and send to a mill for further processing. Secondly, the animal skin is washed in a lime-water mixture and then soaked in lime for some time. Then, the piece of skin goes through roller machine for flattening. The flattened piece is again soaked in tannin in order to get rid of residual water and vegetative matters in the hide. Finally, it goes through polishing and named as leather.
The leather then collected and send off to garments factories where it is used to make goods like shoes, hand bags, balls or other commodities.
