The table and the bar chart illustrate the purpose and the countries of the visit by the British nationals’ between1994 to 1998.

Overall, both the reason for the visit and the countries visited increased over time by British residents although to a different extent. While the most popular reason for travel was vacation, the most frequent destination was Western Europe.

Looking at the table, most UK residents traveled abroad to spend their holidays, and it increased about 5500 from 1994 to 1998. As opposed to holiday other reasons for visitation were the least and fluctuated over the entire period and hit 990 in the final year. Conversely, travel for business and to meet friends and family remained pretty stable with a difference of about 500 people and at the end of the period reached 3,957 and 3,181 respectively.

On the other hand, 19000 people visited in the first year which showed an upward trend all year and peaked at 24000 in 1998, apart from 1995 which showed a little drop. For North America and other areas, although the figure rose a little, it stayed between1000 to 3000 for the entire period.
