Hi Sir/Madam,
I, Manpreet Singh, a resident of SBS Nagar, Mohali, Punjab, am writing this letter to express my concern against the plan to extend local airport.
To begin with, this extension of Mohali airport going to create a lot of troubles for localities. Firstly, this development going to enhance noise pollution in this area, which is already at peak level. In fact, people who are living in 10 km of radius already not able to sleep because of loud noises of planes. Secondly, this area is already congested and facing traffic jams issue every another day, and a bigger airport invite attract more passengers, which would not only increase congestion on roads, but will also contribute significantly in air pollution.
In addition to it, Delhi international airport is near to Punjab and have excellent connectivity from Punjab to Delhi, so establishing another international airport within 200km radius would not be a wiser decision. To core out, this expansion of airport would have mostly drawbacks only, so I would request you to please publish an article about this useless construction in your esteemed newspaper.
