Dear Sir,
My name is Max Gordon, I passed a final job interview for the IT Engineer in your company on October 15. Two days later I received your call and you informed me that I am hired. We made an arrangement that I will start to my working duties at your company on November 15, because I had some unfinished business in my current job.
I’m very sorry to tell, that I will not be able to start working on November 15 due personal issues. The matter is that, my uncle got broke his leg yesterday and I need to fly to Russia and take care of him, because I am the only one relative he has. Moreover, he asked me to support him financially, so I can’t deny his request.
I want to sorry again for this inconvenience and ask you to postpone the starting date. I can assure you that will be back to England on 22nd of November. If you allow me, I will start working on the day later, on November 23. I remember you told me that I need a time for studying my new duties, so I want to assure you that I have ability to catch a new material fast and won’t let you down.
