Dear John and Sara,
I am writing in response to your complain letter about the noise from my flat.
Unfortunately, during the last few days we have been busy with constructing the kitchen. After the last week’s heavy rain the ceiling was leaked and it destroyed some parts of the kitchen such as shelves, oven and the floor. Consequently, we took actions in order to fix the problem.
I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience I may have caused. I managed to make the constructions during the day to avoid any sound and noise after 6 pm that the neighbors return back home and I did not know that you were at home all day long.
Since the noise was a nuisance for you and your family, I would be grateful if you accept my invitation for dinner on Saturday, 21st of November. This way my wife and I can apologize in person and we would get familiar with each other as well.
Once again I apologize for the noise that I have made.
