What changes you would do in your school and why?

School plays an important part in one’s life. It indicates the spheres of our interest and forms the idea of our future career. Knowledge that we get there is the knowledge we use entering the university so it is really important for the school to give its students as much useful skills and knowledge as possible. If I could implement an important change in a school I attended, I would equip classes with computers and projectors for several reasons.

First, modern technologies would make educational process more efficient. In fact, the most difficult thing for a school teacher is to capture and keep pupils attention, so it is necessary to differentiate the educational process. For instance, five years ago, preparing to apply to the university I visited history courses. The professor gave us lots of information that we could not memorize quickly. Moreover, all the dates and names mixed together in my head and I felt like I knew no history of Russia at all. To stop our confusion professor brought his lap top, connected it to the local projector, and started showing us presentations to illustrate his lectures. Surprisingly, all the dates became chronological and all the names formed a clear lineage in my head. I felt I was well prepared for university exams. As you can see, equipping each class with a computer and projector would be a great way to make the lectures easier to understand and memorize.

Second, working with a computer and projector in class will give children useful experience. In other words, since nowadays computer and computer-related technologies are deeply integrated to our everyday life, it seems reasonable to get children used to them as early as possible. For example, my cousin Alex attended a well-equipped school where they used computers and other devices for studying while I attended a usual school and did not get that kind of experience. Then we entered the same university. During our first year we had to do many researches and one of the excellent mark guarantees was preparing a presentation illustrating the results of your research. There is no surprise that I was not getting high grades until Alex spent the whole weekend teaching me the basics of working with a computer and using it for the research results presentation. After it I got only excellent marks for my projects. All of that taught me that if I had had a chance to get used to working with computers and projectors at school, I would have shown much better performance at the university.

To sum up, if I had a chance to change something in the school I attended, I would equip classes with computers and projectors to differentiate the educational process and make children used to modern technologies. The earlier children will get this experience, the easier school-to-work transition will become.
