In contrast to the reading passage, which emphasizes that fuel-cell engines have many benefits over internal-combustion engines, the professor focuses on the opposite view. The professor in the lecture conflicts with the author about these advantages of fuel-cell engines and replacing them.

The passage states that although internal-combustion engines rely on petroleum, including gasoline or diesel fuel, that these fuels are a finite resource, cell-fuel engines use hydrogen from plentiful sources like natural gas and even water. However, the professor explains that hydrogen is not a great solution because it is not easily available and cannot be used directly. In the text, it has been stated that hydrogen based engines would solve pollution problems in all over the world. The author points out that carbon dioxide is the byproduct of burning oil, which causes pollution. However, the professor rebuts this by saying that purring hydrogen from water need some factories that they would produce lots of pollution too.

Finally, in contrast to the reading passage's claim that fuel-cell engine will be economical than internal-combustion engines. Additionally, the author believes that people will spend less money to use fuel-cell engines that internal- combustion ones. However, the professor mentions that fuel-cell engines need components made of platinum, which is a rare and expensive material and without platinum engines would not use hydrogen as a fuel.

In overall, the professor effectively challenges the claim made in the reading.
