TPO 17

The passage states that the number of birds in United states will decline in future and provides three reasons of support. The lecturer, nevertheless, says that none of the reasons are convincing and he disproves each of them.

First, the article claims that as human population and settlements continue to expand, bird;s habitats will disappear. Conversely, the lecturer opposes this point by explaining that there are better and larger habitats in urban areas. The professor contends that not only it isn't going to have uniform decline population in birds but also it causes the bird population will be increased.

In addition, the reading posits that by enhancing the agricultural activities, the bird habitats will be destructed more and more. On the other hand, the lecturer argues that even though the agricultural activities must increase in future but there will be fewer lands to use for that activities every year. According to the professor, the new lands are so productive and thus have more crops and foods. So, there is no need to destruct areas.

Finally, the passage expresses that by increasing the use of chemical pesticides, the bird population will be declined in future. Quite on the contrary, the lecturer emphasizes that the chemical may have this possible result but there are new methods to block this result. We also learn that one method is having new agriculture to use less chemical pesticides and another reason is about growing more persistent crop that helps to reduce chemical process and thus it does not hurt birds at all
