The article states that the claim, in many organizations, it is better to assemble a group of people into a team and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor explains that this offer has negative impact and refutes that each of author's reasons.
Firstly, the reading claims that, in the working as a team group, there are several people that have different knowledge and background, so they can work effectively. But the professor refutes this point by saying that there are some groups got almost free-ride and don’t do their task completely and other group that work hard and effectively cannot recognized.
Second, the article posits that, in these group, there are many people and they possess greater resources, so their task done quickly and rapidly. However, the professor says that it doesn’t work. According to the professor, in group process there are several people that have different ideas and opinions, so it takes a lot of time to meeting build to agree with idea.
Third, the reading says that leader group carry out the work that is involved by the decision that make by all members and group approach would be a great chance for member to shine, while the professor opposes this point by explaining that influential people maybe lead the group towards failure. When they get wrong decision, there are nobody to impact their decision and some member are really knowledgeable, ignored by other member, so as result the group project don't become success.
