Ethanol fuel produces by the aid of corn and sugar cane, this ethanol use for alternative gasoline. According to the article, replacement of the gasoline by the ethanol cause harmful impact on the environment, plummeting amount of plants and in future increase the price of ethanol. Whereas, in the lecture, the professor refute the reasons of the passage and says that it is inconsistent notions.
Firstly, the author claims that burned fuel causes the ethanol release the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere leads to increase the greenhouse gas and instigate the global warming. In contrast, the lecturer mentions that ethanol produced from the corn. The corn plants do not release the carbon dioxide in the environment but plants absorb the carbon dioxide in the air, as result, it prevents the gas release on the environment when burned fuels.
Secondly, the passage implies that 60%corn used in ethanol production causes decrease the food for animals. On the other hand, the speaker explains that ethanol produced from the cellulose of the corn. Cellulose important part of the plants and animals does not eat this cellulose. Therefore, not decline the plants for animals.
Lastly, the article emphasizes that government provide the subsidies over 30 years if they not help then surging the ethanol price. On the contrary, the professor states that in future ethanol price not rising but decrease because of increase the used of the ethanol then, high production and ultimately price go down. In future 40 % price decrease and more than 3 times production of the ethanol.
