TPO-23 - Integrated Writing Task Populations of the yellow cedar, a species of tree that is common in northwestern North America, have been steadily declining for more than a century now, since about 1880. Scientists have advanced several hypotheses expla

Apparently there has been a lot of debates about what the exact cause of the significant decrease of the population of cedar tree which is common in the northwestern North America. The lecturer avers that the exact cause of this decline are unknown, despite the three possible reasons made by the author of the article. He says that all these reasons are not adequate.

First, the professor that the cedar bark beetle can not be the cause of decline. He states that yellow cedar trees have a poisoning substance in their leaves and barks, and that make them resistant to insects` damages. Because of this the professor denies the reason provided in the reading about the evidence that cedar bark beetle attacks and kill yellow cedar trees.

Second, the lecturer points out that brown beers can not be the possible cause of the decline in yellow cedar trees population. He explains that these trees are not declined only the Northwestern of north west, but also in the Islands, where is no beers. Therefore, since yellow cedar trees declines with or without beer, the explanation made by the author of the reading is not accurate.

Finally, the professor puts forth the idea that there is another factor to be taken in consideration which is period of decline. He states that because the trees dyes in lower warm more than in upper cool, we should expect more decline in the cold weather, However, the decline is more significant in the high temperature. Thus, even though changes of climate may increase the yellow cedar trees sensitivity, it can not be the cause. This opposes the third reason provided by the author of the article.
