TPO-32 - Integrated Writing Task Starting in the 1960s and continuing until the 1980s, sailors in Russian submarines patrolling the North Alantic and Arctic Ocean would occasionally hear strange sounds. These underwater noises reminded the submarine crews

The lecture disproves what is argued in the reading material. According to the passsage, three hypothesizes are claimed to explain "quackers",which the Russian submarines detected in the ocean. The professor talks about the same issue. However, she disagrees with all these theories and then represents three evidences to demonstrate her idea.

For one thing, while the passage mentions that the sound could be produced by ocra whales, the professor rebuts this by saying that ocra whales live in the surface of the ocean, submarines that move in the deep ocean cannot detect the sound from that distance. By the way, if the sound is created by the whales, then the submarines can detect their existance. However, there is no evidence that the submarines find any ocra whales around.

Furthermore, contrary to the claims in the reading that the "quackers" comes from the giant squid, the professor insists this is not true. This is because if the sound is made by the giant squid, there is no explanation sbout why the sound apeared in the 1960s and then suddenly disappeared after two decades.

Finally, the professor asserts that the sound cannot from any military technology, which is against the passage. This is because even in today, scientists cannot build a submarine moving in that fast speed and changing direction repidly, and still sustaining silence to the extent that no other submarines can detect them.
