He supports this point with the fact that those unpainted areas on the window glass are small and darken the buildings.
Finally, the author of the reading claims that using magnetic signals to guide birds away from the building is also a feasible solution, whereas the professor asserts that birds only use their magnetic skills when traveling long distances, such as when flying to warm areas rather than cities to cities. Then he explains that this claim is indefensible by pointing out that birds use their sight and the sense of brightness of light to direct their way while traveling short distances, for instance, flying in the city.
