TOKYO, JAPAN--(Marketwired - May 6, 2014) - Prometric, a trusted provider of market-leading test development and delivery solutions, has completed a new, state-of-the-art testing MegaCenter and corporate office, located in Japan's Sola City, Tokyo, complex. The $3.6 million facility is Japan's largest computer-based testing center and can provide computer-based testing services for more than 220 candidates simultaneously.
"Prometric's nine global MegaCenters are flagships of the Prometric brand and located in central business and education regions. These sites represent the best in quality, customer service, technology and content security in the market," said Michael Brannick, President and CEO of Prometric. "Our Tokyo MegaCenter serves as our latest in continued investment, worldwide, to grow and improve our clients' testing programs."
Prometric's global MegaCenter cohort includes two facilities in the U.S., New York City and Chicago. Prometric's five India-based MegaCenters are located in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Gurgaon. The new Tokyo MegaCenter is open daily to support test candidates and is easily accessible by public transport. Prometric has two Japan-based MegaCenters, its new Tokyo site and Prometric's MegaCenter in Osaka, Japan.
Prometric employs approximately 150 professionals in Japan, and its new Sola City complex will support corporate and testing operations. In addition to testing and corporate operations, Prometric's new facility serves as a training center for employees from our over 200 third-party test centers in Japan.
The MegaCenter's test content infrastructure can be completely reconfigured to adapt for widely diverse and high-volume testing programs. Per year, an estimated 200,000 exams can be administered through Prometric's simultaneous testing model.
"In support of our clients, Prometric annually delivers more than 2 million exams in Japan. Our investment in a Tokyo-based MegaCenter signifies Prometric's ongoing commitment to our Japan-based testing partners, as well as our clients, globally, who administer testing programs in the country," Brannick said.
Instructional videos displayed on large viewing screens guide test takers through check-in procedures. Candidates have ample storage space for personal items in secure lockers, and a central proctor area provides thorough oversight during test administration. Proctors are positioned from elevated positions for greater perspective of their areas of responsibility while every candidate workstation is under digital video monitoring, and data is positioned out of view from candidates for enhanced privacy.
MegaCenter staff members are talented professionals who are recruited, vetted, hired, trained and incented to provide responsive and professional test day support for candidates. They secure testing facilities and content at all times and effectively manage fair opportunities for every candidate to prove their merits in pursuit of valuable professional and education credentials.
Candidates can access Prometric's Ochanomizu MegaCenter directly, from multiple transit stations, and arrive within one minute of the facility. Walk-in registrations are accepted. Exams delivered at the testing center include certifications for IT, professional, academic and government credentials. To learn more, or to schedule an exam, visit www.prometric-jp.com.
