The line graph shows the trend of international tourist arrivals in five countries, over a fifteen-year period.
From 1995 to 2005 the general tendency was increasing, both in developped and developing nations considered; the total number of arrivals passed from almost 140 million to over 250 million.
The USA were in this period the most visited country, reached only by France at approximately 90 million tourists in 2010. the reason of this is both a decrease in USA visits and a dramatic growth of arrivals in France from 1995 to 2000 (+100%) and from 2005 to 2010 (+30%). To what concern other countries, the number of arrivals went up constantly through the whole period, with just a relevant increase in Malaysia, from 2005 to 2010.
Generally speaking, developped countries (USA, France) attracted more than 60% of total tourists, whereas developping countries are still striving to enhance their attraction to international tourism.
