The bar graph compares the proportion of the people who live in urban areas in a variety of regions of the world in 1950 and 2007 and it also predicts the same figures for the year 2030. It can be clearly seen that the portion of world population living in urban areas rose from 29% to 49% between 1950 and 2007.
According to the data described on the graph, in 1950 the highest percentage of the urban population was noticed in North America (64%) while this figure was 51% for Europe and 42% for Latin America. Moreover, the lowest appropriation of urban dwellers lived in Asia (17%) and Africa (15%) and these figures were lower than the world average 12% and 14% respectively. However, over this span of 57 years the number of the urban citizens increased by 34% and reached 76% in Latin America and The Caribbean region followed by Europe (71%), Asia (24%), and Africa (22%) respectively. Despite a minimal increase North America remained on the top of the list by 79% and it is reckoned that this percentage for this region will climb 84% in 2030. Furthermore, Latin America is expected to outnumber Europe by 84% to 78% in the same year. Asia and Africa will remain just above 50%.
To sum up, it can be easily noticed that urban population all over the world is getting increase and it will hit the peak in 2030 by 60%.
