The table represents the data regarding the underground railway system in six different cities.
It can be clearly seen that London has the oldest railway system among all the cities, which was opened in the year 1863. Paris was the second oldest, in which it was opened in the year 1900 followed by the opening of the underground railway systems in Tokyo, Washington DC and Kyoto. The underground railway system in Los Angeles was opened recently in the year 2001.
In terms of the size of the railway system, London has the largest underground railway system with 394 kilometres of route and it is used by 775 million passengers per year. The second largest railway system is in Paris with 199 kilometres of route, in which, 1191 million passengers travel by it per year. Despite of the having smallest railway system than London and Paris, Tokyo has only 155 kilometres of route which serves the highest number of passengers per year at 1927 million passengers.
In contrary, the smallest underground railway system, Koyto, serves the smallest number of passengers, that is , 45 million people per year with just 11 kilometres of route. The railway system in Los Angeles, which was opened recently, has more number of passengers travelling by it ,compare to Koyto, with only 28 kilometres of route.
By the way of conclusion, the underground railway systems in the six different states vary a lot in the age of the railway system, number of passengers served per year and the size of the railway system.
