The bar graph illustrates the figure for students choosing to study eight different university subjects in 2005.
It is clear from the chart that the most common choice of female students was social sciences, while science was the highest figure for male students.
The number of women was higher than that of men who registered some subjects including: social sciences, languages and the arts. Social science was by far the most general subject for women, with nearly 25 thousand people which was over 10 thousand than that for men. It is noticeable that females choosing the arts accounted for the number of about 18 thousand which was eightieth as high as its male. There were 9 thousand of women participating in the arts, whereas only 2 thousand men did so.
Sciences and Math were the most popular choices for male students, with around 20 thousand people for each subject, about two to three times higher than female. More men than women also chose literature and law, respectively 15 and 10 thousand. Especially, about 11 thousand people were the figure of both genders choosing humanities.
