The bar chart shows the percentage of dependents in five different countries around the world in 2000 and 2050

The bar chart describes information about the proportion of people below the age of 15 or above 65 in the year 2000 and also gives projections for 2050 in five countries namely India, Indonesia, China, Korea and Japan, it also provides average of world in both years.

Overall, India had maximum number of dependents which position is projected to be held by korea in future. While, the least number of dependents were present in korea and its estimated that India will have least dependents after fifty years.

In 2000, The world population of children below the age of 15 and above 65 was around 25%. India had maximum number of dependents nearly 40%. Countries like Indonesia, China and Japan were similar in number of population of dependents at about 38%. In comparison with, Korea which had least dependents of just 22%.

The prediction of future states that the dependents on world level will increase upto 42% where as India is the only country estimated to fall by 6% of dependents compared to others Indonesia, China, Korea and Japan which may increase by 5%, 2%, 24% and 16% respectively.
