The supplied chart depicts data of population in millions in Japan from 1950 with prediction to 2055, when the given table provides information of Japanese population over-65s in past and forecasted future. It is obviously seen from the illustrations, that since beginning of the period population growth as become older.

Over five and half decades population in Japan growth from 84.1 millions in 1950 to its peak of 127.8 millions in 2005. Since 2005, there is visible steady descending trend to current 125.4 millions in 2015. It is forecasted for future two and four decades in 2035 and 2055 dramatic dip to 110 and 89.9 millions respectively.

Getting back to the details, it is predicted that Japanese older than 65 years will be eleven times more in 2055 than in 1950, 4.1 and 36.5 millions respectively. As population growth over decades, Japanese society become older when in 1950 was just above 5 per cent and in 2005 already 20 per cent.

To sum up, population in Japan rase over the time with predicted descending trend in the future, however, it Japanese population is older over the time with forecasted increasing tendency.
