The given bar graph demonstrates the number of British males and females who pursued higher education full time and part-time in the academic year 1970/71, 1980/81, and 1990/91.
Overall, it is noticeable that unlike the number of female students and full-time male students that experienced the increase, those of men who contributed to their further study part-time followed a downward trend with a fluctuation over the given period.
As shown in the chart for females, a notable number of women attended the university for their higher education each increased markedly each period. In 1970, the number of part-time students was marked at around 720 thousand. It grew dramatically to approximately 1150 thousand in 30 years. Likewise, full-time learner's numbers had risen from only 40 thousand to about 200,000 in 1990/91.
However, further education did not tend to be attractive to males. In 1970, it showed approximately 1,000,000 people pursued their further education, while the number decreased to its lowest point in 1980/81 at a little under 900 thousand. However, for the later 10 years, it seemed to be more men doing their further education.
